Joining Hands with Uni-President, Boosting Productivity Through Technological Innovation Anbao 30th Anniversary Special In early 2000, Anbao officially became a paper product supplier to Taiwan Uni-President Enterprises Corporation. To meet the customer’s stringent production standards, Anbao purchased a complete set of quality management manuals from Uni-President at a cost of 5,000 RMB. Using these manuals as a template, the company established and refined its internal quality management system, laying a solid foundation for its standardized quality control system in the years ahead. Every milestone of Anbao’s growth in the manufacturing industry stems from mutual dedication with its partners. The partnership with Uni-President stands as both recognition of Anbao’s manufacturing capabilities and a critical catalyst driving the company to upgrade its quality control system, pursue technological innovation and expand production capacity.     At that time, Anbao had just transitioned into manufacturing, mainly producing aviation cups, food containers, ice cream cups and single-layer paper bowls, yet it lacked mature production technology for double-layer paper bowls. The outer laminates of Uni-President’s double-layer instant noodle paper bowls initially had to be manually pasted one by one, with a maximum daily output of only 3,600 pieces per worker. As order volumes kept rising, the low efficiency of manual production became a prominent bottleneck, and labor-based output could no longer keep up with supply demands.       To ensure on-time delivery of orders, the factory frequently recruited large numbers of workers at the Jiuyanqiao labor market, and the workshop was filled with staff busy manually attaching outer laminates. Faced with low production efficiency and capacity bottlenecks, the in-house technical team stepped forward to innovate and developed semi-automatic ultrasonic laminating equipment for outer layer attachment. After the equipment was put into operation, the production efficiency of outer laminate processing increased three to four times, fully meeting the client’s demands. This technological innovation delivered a qualitative leap in production modes, completely phasing out the traditional manual laminating process and reshaping Anbao’s entire production workflow.     Partnering with Uni-President, We Resolved Capacity Shortfalls Through Technological Innovation. In 1999, the Chinese government issued the ban on white disposable foam tableware, imposing strict restrictions on highly polluting foam tableware products. The era of traditional foam tableware came to an end, while eco-friendly paper containers ushered in a booming market opportunity. While engaging in newsprint trading, Chairman Xiao Nan spotted this promising business prospect. At that time, a golden opportunity arose: Sichuan Xinyi Paper Products Co., Ltd., a former joint venture co-founded by listed firm Changjiang Packaging and Mr. Chan from Singapore, suffered successive years of losses due to poor operation and was put up for lease. Having spent years working in state-owned enterprises, Chairman Xiao Nan had long nurtured a dream of running a factory of his own. He therefore leased the plant at an annual rent of 1.48 million RMB, embarking on Anbao’s journey into manufacturing.     The road of entrepreneurship has never been smooth sailing, and crises struck abruptly in the early stage of transformation. The factory suffered a severe loss in its first year of operation, losing more than 700,000 RMB within twelve months. With an annual rental cost of 1.48 million RMB and a loss of over 700,000 RMB, Chairman Xiao Nan did a quick calculation and realized he could have earned more than 700,000 RMB if he had not rented the plant. He thus resolved to build his own factory to fulfill his long-cherished dream. He purchased part of the original equipment from Xinyi and supplemented it with a range of brand-new machinery. Chengdu Anbao Paper Products Co., Ltd. was officially established on September 3, 2001, laying a solid foundation for the enterprise to take root in manufacturing and forge deep into the real industry.     Anbao was an early entrant to the food packaging industry. Back then, the company was equipped with three German Wiemer forming machines, alongside other die-cutters and slitting machines.     However, professional engineers judged that one of the Wiemer forming machines could not be used for paper bowl production at that time. Drawing on his years of experience, Chairman Xiao Nan calculated moisture tension and conducted repeated debugging and trials, and finally succeeded in putting the equipment into formal paper bowl production.       This transformation from trading to manufacturing marked not only a pivotal turning point in the company’s development, but also the fulfillment of Chairman Xiao Nan’s long-cherished dream. Thirty years tempered by time, thirty years of resolute strides. In 1996, as reform and opening-up advanced in depth and the market economy flourished, the story of Anbao officially unfolded amid this great tide of the times. Anbao was born from the bold breakthrough of its founder, Mr. Xiao Nan. Having worked at a state-owned enterprise for many years, Mr. Xiao Nan took a medical leave to recuperate after a sudden illness. Upon his return, he faced a job reassignment. Standing at the crossroads of transformation, he made the resolute decision to embark on the path of entrepreneurship. The early days of the startup were fraught with uncertainty and hardships. Lost and searching for a way forward, he received guidance from Mr. Chan from Hong Kong, who recommended importing newsprint and proposed the brand name: Anbao.     Founder of Anbao: Xiao Nan, Chairman    Chengdu Anbao Trading Co., Ltd. was officially founded on August 7, 1996. The company’s first business consisted of importing newsprint from Russia, marking a brand-new starting point of Anbao’s pursuit of dreams. Cross-border trade in the 1990s carried extremely high risks. Relatives and friends all tried to dissuade Mr. Xiao, fearing he might fall victim to fraud and lose all his capital. This filled Mr. Xiao Nan, a newcomer to import trade, with anxiety. To ensure the smooth execution of the business, he traveled to Shanghai in person and stayed on-site throughout the customs clearance inspection process. At that time, private enterprises were not granted independent import and export qualifications and had to rely on state-owned enterprises to issue letters of credit on their behalf. After extensive coordination and negotiations with multiple parties, the maiden order was successfully completed. An entrepreneurial invoice embodying courage and hope was issued at last.     An old invoice bears witness to the original aspiration of entrepreneurship and laid the foundation for a thirty-year journey. May 21–22, 2026 Stepping away from their desks, all colleagues of Anbao set off for Yibin, known as the First City Along the Yangtze River. A two-day, one-night getaway to slow down and unwind. We roamed the sprawling liquor city, listened to heroic tales, wandered along riverside ancient streets, and explored age-old time-honored towns. This journey offered stunning landscapes, profound history, mouthwatering local delicacies, and above all, constant laughter shared among one another.       We ventured into the Ten-Li Liquor City and visited the world’s largest solid-state grain brewing base. We took group photos in front of Wuliangye’s iconic bottle-shaped building. The rich mellow aroma of fermented grains filled the air, and everyone couldn’t help marveling at how stunning the integration of industry and culture could be.       On Cuiping Hill, inside Cuiping Academy, we learned about the deeds of Zhao Yiman, a heroic national heroine of the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression. Through precious cultural relics displayed there, we deeply felt the power of faith. This hometown of the hero inspires every member of Anbao to stay true to our original aspiration and forge ahead relentlessly.       As dusk fell, we wandered through the ancient street featuring residential architecture of the Qing Dynasty and visited the branch venue of the 2026 Spring Annual Meeting. Later, we proceeded to the confluence of three rivers, where the Yangtze, Jinsha and Min Rivers converge into one. River breezes brushed our faces amid dazzling lights. Everyone pulled out their phones to capture the romantic charm of earthly mortal life.     Next morning, we toured Lizhuang, the No.1 ancient town on the Yangtze River. Flagstone roads, old roofs and anti-Japanese historical sites line the town. Yu King Palace, Tongji University former site, cultural museum and ancient opera house carry profound historical memories. Authentic local sliced pork and rice cakes made our lunch utterly satisfying.     Over these two days and one night, we set aside spreadsheets and orders for a while, yet gained something far more precious amid mountains and rivers: The old songs we sang together on the bus, the tacit understanding as we shared dishes at dinner, the peaceful moment watching sunset side by side by the river, and every bright, joyful smile captured in photos. Work means far more than merely hitting KPIs. It is about journeying through unique landscapes with a wonderful team, then bringing this joy back to our posts to march forward side by side once more. On April 22, the 57th World Earth Day, Anbao led its employees to Fengtongzhai Nature Reserve in Baoxing County for a nature education event guided by experts and reserve rangers. Centered on the philosophy of "learning through play, enjoying learning, and gaining insights from joy", the activity combined field excursions, museum tours and plant identification workshops. It allowed participants to experience the beauty of natural ecosystems up close and raise their environmental awareness.         Fengtongzhai is blanketed with blooming dove trees in April. Their white petals sway across the valleys, forming a picturesque backdrop for this Earth Day initiative. The Anbao team first toured the reserve to learn about its ecological resources and conservation efforts. Under professional instructors, they got acquainted with rare local flora and fauna, gaining a deeper understanding of the practical significance of safeguarding lucid waters and lush mountains.           Participants took part in immersive programs including "Giant Panda Museum Explorer" and "Junior Naturalist Intern". The first session explored the evolutionary history and habitats of giant pandas, showcasing the abundant wildlife and plant life of Fengtongzhai. The second focused on plant taxonomy and identification, enabling attendees to perceive the diversity and complexity of natural ecosystems through observation and hands-on practice. As a practitioner in paper packaging containers, Anbao believes genuine environmental protection stems from understanding and reverence for nature. As spring returns and everything revives, it is the perfect season for tree planting. Recently, ANBAO organized all employees to carry out an Arbor Day themed public welfare tree planting activity, aiming to actively practice the green development concept, demonstrate corporate social responsibility, and create an ecologically friendly and comfortable office environment. We added new greenery to the earth and contributed to environmental protection with practical actions. The activity site was filled with warmth and high enthusiasm. Employees cooperated with each other by dividing workloads efficiently. Holding shovels, buckets and other tools, everyone shoveled soil, supported saplings, filled pits, compacted soil and watered carefully, completing every procedure meticulously. From digging holes to planting and watering, team members worked in perfect tacit agreement, planting saplings with their own hands, nurturing green hope with sweat, and making young seedlings take root firmly in the spring breeze. This Arbor Day activity not only enhanced employees' awareness of ecological environmental protection and team cohesion, but also conveyed ANBAO's firm determination to protect green mountains and clear waters and adhere to sustainable development. The autumn of October 2025 is set to be a busy yet rewarding season for Anbao. We simultaneously participated in the Phase 2 of the 138th China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair) from October 23–27, and the 2025 Xinjiang Catering & Food Expo alongside the 2025 Xinjiang Food Processing & Packaging Exhibition from October 24–26. Let’s take a look at the highlights from our exhibition booths!   On October 23, the second phase of the 138th Canton Fair officially opened. Reports indicate that this phase features an exhibition area of 515,000 square meters, nearly 25,000 booths, and over 10,000 participating enterprises. Centered around the "Quality Living" theme, it is organized into three major sections with 15 exhibition zones, creating a one-stop home furnishing procurement platform that integrates innovative design and green, low-carbon concepts, providing global buyers with efficient and comprehensive home sourcing services.     On October 24, 2025, the Xinjiang Catering & Food Expo and Xinjiang Food Processing & Packaging Expo grandly commenced at the Xinjiang International Convention and Exhibition Center. The event brings together high-quality exhibitors from both domestic and international markets, covering the entire industry chain including catering ingredients, grains and oils, condiments, food and beverages, specialty agricultural products, as well as food processing and packaging equipment. It effectively fulfills one-stop sourcing needs from upstream supply to end products.  

The second phase of the 136th China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair) was held in Guangzhou from October 23 to 27, 2024. This session featured a total exhibition area of 515,000 square meters, over 24,700 booths, and 10,040 participating enterprises.    

The second phase of the 135th Canton Fair covered a total offline exhibition area of 515,000 square meters, featuring 24,658 booths and 9,820 participating enterprises. The exhibition showcased three specialized sectors: Building Materials & Furniture, Household Items, and Gifts & Decorations, with a total of 15 exhibition zones. This edition further strengthened the "Total Home" theme concept, better meeting public demand for consumption upgrades and a better life. Despite the unfavorable weather in Guangzhou on the 23rd, the Anbao booth still welcomed numerous old and new clients from around the world.       

The 32nd Shanghai International Hotel & Catering Expo (2024 HOTELEX) was held from March 27th to 30th, 2024 at the Shanghai National Convention and Exhibition Center (Shanghai • Hongqiao, Puxi). Since its establishment in 1996, Anbao has grown into a professional manufacturer of food packaging containers, specializing in the production, R&D, and sales of paper-based food packaging.
